Day 080: This was a tough one
Thursday we learned that Daron’s job was being shut down due to being a non-essential business, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our only income – gone. I know we weren’t the only family in this situation, but it didn’t make the realization any easier. Slightly more comforting, but still just as difficult to figure out how to move forward.
I spent pretty much the entire day one the phone, and on the computer, calling and researching, and signing up for relief programs, and applying for extensions. Luckily, a lot of the companies I contacted were very understanding. It’s hard not knowing. This was a tough one.
The boys insisted on being outside – even when it started pouring down rain. I think being inside all week finally broke them.
I decided today that I was going to make a better attempt to document more everyday moments. Most times, I grab my camera when I see something that I think would make a great photo. But I wanted to try and capture some of those things that are starting to tell the story of our time during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The house is messy. I mean, it’s always messy. But, with three boys who are largely stuck inside, it seems to get messier faster than usual. That’s no surprise.
And let’s face it; It’s early spring in Pittsburgh, which means if it happens to be warm outside, it’s probably also raining or at least muddy as hell.
And if they’re not outside getting filthy dirty, they’re inside jumping off of our tv console. It’s basically a three ringed circus around here.
And then there’s Orion. Look, if it’s one thing I’m good at, it’s nap time and bedtime! After lunch, every day, it’s Maddox’s nap time. Today, Orion decided to take him upstairs and snuggle with him in his own bed! It was so cute! Of course Maddox didn’t want to leave Orion’s big boy bed, which made nap time a little tougher than usual. But I got a great photo out of it so, I’ll allow it.
