Day 047: Spiderman, Spiderman!
Costumes are huge around here. And you know what? I’m here for it! I love it when my boys decide to play pretend! I was always too concerned with growing up when I was little (WTF was I thinking, right?!). My oldest is much like me in that way. But my middle and youngest really get into imaginative play.
And of course living in the time that we do, Marvel comics / movies are HUGE around here. I can’t say that I’m mad about it. I actually enjoy most of the movies, myself. Paul Rudd as Ant-Man? Yes, please!
It was too dark when I took these to use just ambient light. Unless I wanted to crank my ISO. Which, as much as I’d like to embrace the grain, it’d be a LOT of grain, and I just don’t feel like it would have added anything to the scene here. So, I popped the Godox V1 Flash, onto my Nikon D750, and tested a few shots bouncing off the ceiling.
Truth be told: I’m still fairly new to flash. It’s not my favorite look when it comes to lifestyle / documentary / storytelling, but I really want to learn to utilize it more in an every day setting.
Also, look at Orion here. I told you he was a character. He found the medical play kits that he received for his birthday a few years ago, that I had in the bin to sell. He found these accessories, threw them on, and started playing! It made for quite the unique look mixed with the Spiderman costume!
