Day 043: The Beast has Awoken!
Some days, you just don’t have anything “special” to photograph. Some days, the light isn’t perfect. Some days, your house doesn’t look or feel photo-worthy. And some days, you take the photo anyway.
We all know Maddox has been my toughest child! He’s VERY strong willed. And VERY loud. But, he’s a pretty good sleeper! So when nap time rolls around, I usually find myself scrambling to do something productive. It’s hard to concentrate when a 2.5 year old tyrant is screaming in your ear.
This photo isn’t perfect. The light isn’t perfect. My house isn’t perfect. But one day Maddox will be 6, then 10, then 18 – I mean, not in that order, but eventually he’ll be grown. Right now he still has those dimples in his hands where his knuckles are supposed to be, and wears his binky attached to his shirt. He might be tough, but he’s my last baby. At the end of the day I’m trying to savor these moments for all they’re worth. It might not be apparent at 8PM when I just want everyone in bed, but I do savor these moments. It just takes a bit of reflection, and a little bit of silence.
