Day 052: Blind Shot

We get some really lovely light coming in our front window – when it’s sunny! And since Pittsburgh saw some sun yesterday, for the first time in what seemed like weeks, I decided to try and capture some detail shots of Maddox.

As I was trying to take his picture, he was trying to lick me. #thatboymomlife. So, I grabbed my camera, put it over my head, blindly focused, and took a few shots without ever looking through the lens. I can’t even believe I managed to focus on his eye, and capture this expression! This was a total WIN.

I also went a little overboard shooting and editing some additional images. The light coming from our front window always lights the subject so beautifully, and creates fantastic separation from the background. There’s something about this look that I really love. This combined with the shallow focus *swoon*. These might be some of my favorite images so far this year.

Remember when I mentioned those dimples in his hand <3. I wanted to make sure I captured them before they’re gone.
